汉人

汉人 (hàn rén) refers to a person of Han ethnicity, the majority ethnic group in China. It is often used to distinguish them from other ethnic minorities.

The character 汉 (hàn) originally meant 'Han dynasty' and later became associated with the Han people, while 人 (rén) means 'person' or 'people.' Together, they denote the Han ethnic group.

汉人 is commonly used in both historical and modern contexts. In everyday speech, it may be less frequently used than 地址 (zhèngdá), which refers to the Han Chinese as a whole, but it is still important for understanding Chinese history and culture.
