动力学 refers to the branch of physics that studies the motion of objects and the forces that cause that motion. It is closely related to mechanics but focuses specifically on the causes of movement, such as forces and torques.
The word is composed of three characters: 动 (dòng) means 'movement' or 'to move'; 力 (lì) means 'force' or 'strength'; and 学 (xué) means 'study' or 'learning.' Together, they form a term that literally translates to 'the study of movement and force.'
In academic and scientific contexts, 动力学 is commonly used in physics and engineering. It is also used metaphorically in non-scientific settings to describe the underlying forces driving a situation or process. Understanding 动力学 helps in analyzing how systems change and behave over time.
